The Electricity of Our Connection
The electricity when we first met, could light the evening sky,
We surrendered who we were alone, together we could fly,
The electricity has calmed down, with kids we can agree,
But our flame is now a candle, as we raise our family,
And all I need is to see your face, and it reminds me of our core,
Making it easy to love you the next 50 years and more.
I’m told that in the first 5 years, is when relationships often fail,
My first 5 years with you, has just hoisted up my dreamers sail.
And never for a moment, has my compass pointed another direction,
Then to you each night and morning, you have all my heart’s affection.
Remember under the trees, where we slept out under the stars,
Like the heavens opened up their arms, making music of the passing cars.
The electricity has calmed down, with kids we can agree,
But our flame is still the candle, lighting each romantic memory,
And all I need is to see your face, and it reminds me of our core,
Making it easy to love you the next 50 years and more.
We don’t need an electric storm, I love you just the same,
In fact just holding your hand will do, next to our candle flame.
